CookBook U.S.A. is designed to work with any CD-ROM reader that supports ISO-9660 format disks. This means that practically all CD-ROM readers that have been manufactured for any IBM compatible machine since 1990 should work properly.
1b. Program Requirements
CookBook U.S.A. for Windows will run on any IBM-Compatible machine that has at least Windows version 3.1, 4MB RAM, and an installed CD-ROM Reader compatible with ISO-9660 format. The Cookbook may run with less memory or on earlier versions of Windows, but performance may suffer.
1c. Windows Installation
To install Cookbook for Windows, you must have at least 800KB (0.8MB) of Hard drive disk space available. Once Cookbook USA is installed, it requires only 388K of Hard drive space. In Windows, select Run from the File menu. At the filename prompt, type your CD Drive letter, followed by :\SETUP.EXE with no spaces. If your CD-ROM reader is drive D:, then you would type D:\SETUP.EXE. You may alternately select the filename by clicking the browse button to open the browse form. Using the browser, click on the drive selection box, and select you CD-ROM reader. "SETUP.EXE" should appear in the file name box. Click on SETUP.EXE and click the OK button. The File...Run box will reappear, with the proper command entered. Click on OK to run setup.
If you change your CD-ROM Drive or use multiple drives, the program will automatically find the CookBook U.S.A. without reconfiguration.
